Very interesting and - from my distant position - a sign that the protection of the nature around the area of samaria gorge functions. Have the scientists and the veterinary found out if the cat is definitely a fourogatos by an DNA-Test? I could not translate the greek news precisely.

They are still waiting for the results of the blood sample and other tests but theyre almost certain its a Cretan wildcat.

Has there been any update since then, especially regarding the DNA? For me the cat on the video looks exactly like the common European wildcat

I have searched but not found any update online. Zarpanews and Chaniapost are among the websites we should check - but there doesn't seem to be an update yet....

In dem Faltblatt über den Samaria Nationalpark, steht, dass die Wildkatze im Samaria-Nationalpark lebt.

Wenn ich durch einsame Ecken und Schluchten von Kreta wandere, denke ich öfters, hier könnte eine Kretische Wildkatze leben...
