Katsiveli Bivouac
Katsiveli Bivouac
Dear all,
I‘ve heard that the Katsiveli Bivouac is damaged due to snow. Do you have any further information on that? Is it possible to take the beds out of the Bivouac for sleeping?
Kind regards
Lara

Dear Lara,
I do not have any updated information from this year. I assume, the emergency shelter is OK - but I can ask someone to confirm that it actually is OK - if you like.
Best regards
Simon

Dear Simon,
Thanks for your help. We already replanned our tour but it could be interesting for other people.

Re: Katsiveli Bivouac
Hi Lara,
just in case: You could probably also use the mitato. I assume that the shepherds would not be around in October.
Will you pass by from Katsiveli? What are your plans?
Best wishes

Hi Simon,
We‘ve been in Ammoudari, but decided to walk from there to Lake Kourma.
But thanks for your hints.
Best regards

Hi Lara,
have a pleasant walk. Did you then fully skip the high mountains?

Re: Katsiveli Bivouac
Hello Lara,
just for the sake of clarification...
Today I was at Katsiveli and found the shelter in good shape. The beds are fixed to the floor and cannot be taken outside. Hopefully this might be helpful for somebody in the future.
Best wishes
Michael
P.S.: Just learned that posting pictures using a smartphone is next to impossible.

Will fix this when back home.
Re: Katsiveli Bivouac
Hi Michael,
I don't fully understand the description about the water situation in Katsiveli. Did you find there freely available water or not? I plan to go there soon - but I don't plan to get any key from Chania or elsewhere.
Thanks in advance,
Linda

Re: Katsiveli Bivouac
Hi Linda,
currently there is plenty of water.
You could take it from the troughs or fill your bottle at the hose.
The emergency shelter is always open and I doubt you would get a key for the house.
Best wishes
