New geotagging software

anyone interested in geotagging their photos should take a look at http://code.google.com/p/gpicsync/
This freeware "automatically geocodes your photos using a GPS tracklog in the GPX format." It comes with a lot of great features including creation of a *.KMZ file containing your geolocalized pictures and tracklog).

One issue with Garmin GPSs though is that they filter data (number of waypoints reduced to 500 for example ) and remove the timestamp data from tracks when saved on the internal memory, so you will always want to use the active log (automatically saved on the micro sd card if the “Log track to data card” box is checked) for photo geotagging.
